Earlier this year, we applied for a donation from the Hoefer Family Foundation to cover the closing costs of purchasing the employee cottage. In explaining the historical significance of the structure, along with our objectives for acquiring the property, we were awarded a $4000 donation and able to move forward with the purchase. Receiving these funds saved the society from having to cover the costs directly and has helped us maintain our budget for the acquisition and hauling of rolling stock still left to move.
